Zilele Clujului 2018

Every year, near the end of May, Cluj-Napoca transforms into a city-wide celebration. Participants from every background come together to celebrate “Zilele Clujului” – or Cluj Days, event which has already become a tradition in the Heart of Transylvania.

Cluj Days 2018 was a huge success, as it has been year-on-year. With over 200,000 people attending this year’s celebrations, we were treated to a extensive range of activities and performances, delivered by people and organisations from different backgrounds and countries.

A fine mixture of Romanian tradition, combined with modern and futuristic sights, made this year’s event one to remember. Cluj has an extensive history and it seems that many of these milestone events were covered through on-stage performances, street parades and even medieval battles in some of the historic backstreets which hold some of the remains of the original city walls.

Tourists and citizens of Cluj also had the ability to take part in creative workshops, culinary demonstrations, contents and games over the course of the 4 day event. There was even a hackathon for those who prefer to change the world, one line of code at a time.

This year marks the 8th year of Zilele Clujului (The Days of Cluj), and was themed towards the centenary (100 year anniversary) of the Great Union.
