Many Romanians are waiting for last-minute offers
While some Romanians chose to spend the 6 free days at home with their family or at accommodation units in Romania, others chose exotic destinations or vacations in Europe, If we were to analyze how the Romanians organized themselves in terms of reservations we note that:
“Dmost of the Romanians, up to 60%, organized their departure for the Easter holidays many months in advance, the remaining 40% left this decision for the last weeks. Even at this moment, in the last minute, we have requests for Easter departures, a sign that Romanians are surprised by new destinations, want to enjoy last minute deals and hope to make a good deal from the point of view financially even if there are only a few days left. Analyzing the requests from Romanians, the most sought-after destinations are: Portugal with Madeira or Spain with Barcelona or Seville, or the exotic beaches of Thailand, the Maldives, Mauritius or Mexico. As for the allocated last-minute budget, for departures to Europe Romanians have allocated between 700 and 1100 euros/person, depending on the chosen hotel unit, and for exotic destinations, it varies between 1000 and 2500 euros/person,” said Ana Maria Gherasim, Eturia Sales Director.
It is interesting that even though Easter is knocking on the door, Romanians are already asking for offers for the summer holidays, significantly increasing the demand compared to the same period last year.
“We observe an increased interest in already purchasing summer vacations, an interest that has been manifested since the end of last year, but around Easter it is much increased. Romanians will leave according to requests this year to European islands: Madeira, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, Azores (mainland Portugal), but also to cities flagship from Europe: Seville, Nissa, Barcelona, Paris. When it comes to exotic stays, the packages sold up to this moment give us the following ranking: Maldives, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, Namibia, South Korea, China and Japan. And the budget allocated for them starts from 700 euros/person and increases according to the needs of the chosen destination and vacation”added Ana Maria Gerasim.
