74 theaters and philharmonics in the country received money. The amount allocated by the Government

At Wednesday’s meeting, at the proposal of the Ministry of Development, the government allocated almost 200 million lei for 74 theaters, opera houses and philharmonics in 48 localities, which operate under the authority of local authorities.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, the Government decided, in Wednesday’s meeting, to allocate the amount of 188,569,873.21 lei for 74 theaters, opera houses and philharmonics in 48 localities, which operate under the authority of local authorities in 34 counties, informs a press release from the Ministry of Development.

“We support, through this measure, the theaters, operas, philharmonics and puppet theaters that do not benefit from funding from the state and that are subordinated to local public authorities”says Minister Cseke Attila, News writes.

The amount represents 2% of the income tax collected between September 1 and December 10, 2025, for the financing of public performance institutions subordinated to the requesting administrative-territorial units in the counties: Alba, Arad, Argeş, Bacău, Bihor, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Botoşani, Braşov, Brăila, Buzău, Caraş-Severin, Cluj, Constanţa, Covasna, Dâmboviţa, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iasi, Maramureş, Mureş, Neamţ, Prahova, Satu-Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiş, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea and Vrancea.

The funds were distributed according to the requests sent to the Ministry of Development, by the legal deadline, by the administrative-territorial units under which public performance institutions operate.
