George Simion was removed by the gendarmes from the General Prosecutor's Office after the circus in the institution, where he came without being summoned. The AUR leader previously called his wife and called 112 while live on Facebook, threatening to go on hunger strike.

Although he was removed by the gendarmes from the headquarters of the General Prosecutor's Office, George Simion stated that he will remain in front of the institution and announced a protest this evening.

We remind you that, although he was not cited, the AUR leader arrived on Friday, at the General Prosecutor's Office, together with other members of the formation, in the context of the scandal regarding the forgery of signatures for Silvestru Șoșoacă's candidacy for the European Parliament.

The AUR leader posted a video on his Facebook page in which he spoke about the abuses.

Such abuse as the one committed against the AUR, three criminal files invented in the last three days of the campaign, how many more will there be (…) I am with my colleagues, whose phones and laptops were taken on Wednesday morning and their basic rights were violated by a prosecutor appointed by the PNL and Eduard Hellvig's best friend”, said George Simion.

Asked by journalists if the AUR leaders were subpoenaed, Simion stated: “we were not subpoenaed“. “No, and I want to prevent the moment when I will be picked up off the street because we are willing to cooperate with any serious investigative body. But this prosecutor doesn't seem to be serious (…) I came together with my colleagues who were left without phones, without laptops three days before the elections saying it was an emergency. The computer search in their case has not been done even now“.

Simion said that he wants an audience with the general prosecutor Alex Florence, and to make a complaint about certain signatures.

I ask that the prosecutor of the case if he thinks that I need to be heard and on Wednesday presented me as a criminal, I ask to hear me and I want to make a complaint about certain signatures. From PNL, I have some communes, from PSD, from USR, from REPER, from AUR, on the grounds that from my knowledge there are fake signatures, the law must be applied to all parties. Maybe I was wrong to be honest, but the desperation is at its maximum here at the prosecutor's office”, George Simion added.

Everything turned into a circus. George Simion also called his wife and called 112 to threaten to go on hunger strike.

A clerk from the Registry went to George Simion, offering him to register the request, the denunciation or whatever he wants to submit, but the leader of the extremist AUR party refused, according to G4Media sources.

Later, the AUR leader announced that he was going on a hunger strike. An ambulance crew came to assess his health, a procedure for those on hunger strike, stating that Simion would be monitored.

Ilinca Simion, the wife of the AUR leader, also stopped by the Prosecutor's Office to bring water to George Simion.

Prosecutor Marius Iacob announced that he was receiving him in the audience, and the AUR leader accepted.

About an hour later, George Simion was removed by the gendarmes from the headquarters of the General Prosecutor's Office, but he declared that he would remain in front of the General Prosecutor's Office and that a protest would follow at 21:00, according to the quoted source.

We remind you that on Wednesday, the Office of Information and Public Relations within the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice announced that the case prosecutor within the Criminal Investigation Section is investigating a criminal case in which it was noted that:

In April 2024, the leader of a parliamentary formation, a deputy, instigated, both directly and through intermediaries, several members of a political formation and a number of employees of the Romanian Parliament who carry out lucrative activities within the respective political formation, to proceed with the falsification of several thousand lists of supporters necessary for the submission by an independent candidate of the candidacy for the elections for the European Parliament on June 9, 2024″.

The MP mentioned in the press release is George Simion, and the independent MEP candidate is Silvestru Şoşoacă, the husband of Senator Diana Şoşoacă.
