Schools can suspend classes on Monday, June 10, if voting stations are placed in the classrooms, the Ministry of Education announces. The hours will be recovered until the end of the school year, that is until June 21.

“Considering the recommendations formulated during the meeting of the Central Technical Commission for the coordination of the activities of organizing the elections for members of the European Parliament from Romania and the elections for local public administration authorities in 2024, held on June 5, 2024, the school inspectorates in collaboration with the County Electoral Offices/Electoral Office of the Municipality of Bucharest and with the representatives of the prefectures and local public authorities can establish the list of pre-university education units, at the level of which the partial or full suspension of courses for Friday June 7 and Monday June 10, 2024 is justified” , write in the address published by the ministry.

“The methods of recovering the courses and the measures regarding the complete completion of the school programs until the end of the 2023-2024 school year will be established by the board of directors of the educational units, in accordance with the provisions of the framework Regulation on the organization and operation of pre-university educational units “, it is written in the document.

Online courses for students from Buzau

Between June 7 and 10, students from Buzău County who study in schools designated as polling stations will take online courses, the Buzău County School Inspectorate announced in a press release.

“During June 7-10, the didactic activity in the educational units designated as polling stations will be partially or totally suspended, only in the units that do not have the necessary space to carry out the instructional-educational process in good conditions. In these units the activity will be carried out online”, according to the statement.

So, “a number of 262 polling stations were established at the level of pre-university education units in Buzău county, of which 248 will operate in classrooms, 8 in gyms and 6 in offices/laboratories, intended for elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament and the elections for local public administration authorities in 2024″, it is also shown in the document.
