Invited to the studio at the TV station Antena 3 CNN, the influencer Selly (Andrei Șelaru) revealed that he asked his followers what they were voting for on Sunday, June 9, 2024, and from the thousands of answers gathered, it emerged that a particularly important aspect for them is standard of living.
“I asked on Instagram and I have tens of thousands of responses. They said the standard of living, which is a problem for them. When you're a student it's hard to support yourself in a big city, to pay rent. I think what my generation wants is a better standard of living.” said Selly, on Antena 3 CNN, being quoted by Hotnews.
Because communication on social networks was of particular importance in the campaign that ended on Saturday morning, Selly also referred to how young people could be influenced by the information they received on Tik Tok about the candidates who want the Romanians' vote. Selly said the danger of disinformation exists, because “disinformation has always been there,” but there are also “publications that do good work.”
“Disinformation has always existed. Today it is easier to report an abuse or a problem. I can say that unfortunately very few politicians have adapted, that is, few have communicated effectively with young people on the respective platforms, but that is their problem”Selly said.
In the local and European parliamentary elections on June 9, more than 18 million citizens with the right to vote are expected to vote, among them more than one million young people between the ages of 18 and 22, who are voting for the first time.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m., turnout at the polls nationally exceeded 41%, in Olt county exceeding the 50% threshold, and in Giurgiu, Sălaj and Vâlcea counties exceeding 49%.
