This year's National Assessment begins on June 25, with the written exam in Romanian Language and Literature. The first tie-breaking criterion for students with equal high school admission averages in 2024 will be the high school average.

Starting this year, the correction will be digitized. Student work will be scanned by teaching assistants. They are scanned with the first unclassified page and the right corner unfolded. Teaching assistants check that the pages are complete and legible. If there are pages that are not clear, teachers will delete them and scan the paper again.
After the exams are completed and the final results are displayed, the high school admission stage begins. The computerized distribution in the state high school education of the VIIIth grade graduates will take place on July 24, 2024. The completion of the high school registration forms will be done during the periods July 11-12 and July 15-22, 2024. The results of the computerized distribution will be displayed on July 24, and the submission of enrollment files to the schools to which the candidates have been assigned will take place between July 25 and 30.
