The German police detained an American suspected of harassing Taylor Swift and threatening the singer and her partner, the well-known football player Travis Kelce, on social networks. The man was arrested while trying to enter the pop star’s concert in the German city of Gelsenkirchen (west), law enforcement said on Thursday, according to Reuters.

The 34-year-old man, who had bought a ticket for the concert, was identified and detained on Wednesday at the checkpoint at the entrance to the arena where the concert took place as part of the European Eras Tour. Although neither the public nor the star were in danger, the American was treated as a threat to public safety and was detained by the German police, informs Agerpres.

He was being investigated as a result of the fact that he posted several threatening messages on social networks to the American star Taylor Swift and her partner, Travis Kelce, law enforcement officials said. According to the same source, a local court decided that the man should be detained until Saturday.

Wednesday’s concert was one of three that the singer is holding in the German city of Gelsenkirchen as part of her successful Eras Tour. The event attracted 60,000 fans, known unofficially as “Swifties”.

During her European tour last month in London, the well-known singer, especially among young people, did not miss the opportunity to take a selfie with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
