Computerized assignment 2024. How the process works by which students find out which high school they have been assigned to

The 8th grade graduates who took the National Assessment 2-24 exam find out today which high schools they were admitted to. The computerized distribution in high school education is based on the average at the National Assessment and the chosen options. How the algorithm works.

Between July 11 and 22, the stage of completing the options and registration forms took place. According to the Ministry of Education, today the results of the candidates assigned by computer in high school education will be announced. Also today, the list of unoccupied places in high schools will be displayed in secondary education units.

How to calculate admission average

The admission average, based on which secondary school graduates are enrolled in the 9th grade of high school, is the overall average at the National Assessment calculated as an arithmetic average, with two decimal places, without rounding, of the grades obtained.

How the allocation algorithm works

The assignment algorithm sorts the students in descending order of admission average, assigning them one at a time, starting with the student with the best average. For each student, the first option on the list is searched where there are still free places and the student is assigned to that option.

If at a given moment there is a student whose options expressed in the form do not allow him to enter any high school (because the places have already been taken by those with a higher average than him), that student remains unallocated, regardless of the average which he has.

Submission of registration files

Between July 25 and 30, the enrollment files will be submitted to the schools to which the candidates were assigned, and on July 30, the high school education units will transmit the situation of the vacant places due to the non-enrollment of the candidates admitted in this admission stage.

Between July 31 and August 2, the county admission commission and the Bucharest municipality will resolve the special situations that arose after the computerized distribution stage.
