The Romanian men’s national water polo team was defeated by the Greek team with a score of 14-7 (4-2, 5-3, 2-1, 3-1), on Sunday evening, in its first match in Group A, at The Olympic Games in Paris.
The Greeks dominated the game from one end to the other, managing to impose themselves without emotions, with a difference of seven goals.
Vlad Georgescu and Andrei Neamţu scored two goals each for the team coached by Bogdan Rath, the other goals being scored by Francesco Iudean, Andrei Prioteasa and Tudor Fulea.

Romania will play the next match on July 30, against the USA team (17:35).
In the other group matches, Croatia beat Montenegro 11-8, and Italy beat the USA 12-8.
In Group B, Spain defeated Australia 9-5, Hungary beat Hungary 13-12, and Serbia won 16-15 against Japan.
The top four in each group qualify for the quarter-finals.
