There was a high demand for Mathematics-Informatics from the University of Bucharest, Automation and Computers from the Polytechnic, and Cybernetics from ASE.

Romania needs, in the next decade, half a million engineers, say the rectors of the polytechnic universities, according to ProTv News.

“We have become an IT hub in the European area and I think leaders in the Eastern European area. The most sought-after department here is the computer department, where the competition exceeds 15 per place. Polytechnic graduates are sought after in more and more fields

Professors say more and more industries are showing interest in polytechnic students. In addition to traditional sectors such as IT, transport and communications, the health system stands out as a new area of ​​major interest. Public hospitals and private clinics have a growing need for information security specialists.

Almost 60% of the future polytechnic students will work in the field in which they get their degree, and half of the future first-year freshmen have engineers in their families.

This fall, 40,000 students will study at the Bucharest Polytechnic. Of these, 4,000 were admitted on the basis of the awards obtained and 2,000 passed the written test, out of a total of 10,000 candidates, with a competition of 5 per seat.

Politehnica Bucharest has created an employment agency, offering students access to 20,000 jobs and paid internships through partner companies.
