The French opened the scoring at the Parc des Princes, in front of 50,000 spectators, through Millot in the 11th minute. But what followed was nothing short of fantastic. The Spaniards scored 3 times in 10 minutes, through Lopez (18, 25) and Baena (28), so after half an hour the scoreboard read 1-3.

The hosts started the chasing race, Akliouche (79) bringing hope among the “roosters”. The inevitable happened in overtime, when Ovidiu Hațegan, in the VAR room, informed the center that he had to give a penalty, after an offense in the Iberians’ box. Mateta scored to make it 3-3, the Spaniards hit the bar in the 6th minute of added time, France missed a monumental chance a minute later, so it went into extra time.
Spain, two goals in overtime
The 100th minute brought another goal, this time by the Spaniards. And the hosts didn’t have the strength to come back, the Iberians gave the decisive blow in the last minute of the game, also through the Camello reserve: 3-5, in the final at the Olympic Games!
Spain is also imposing itself in the Olympic final, after winning the European Championship in Germany, less than a month ago. And the future sounds good for the peninsulars, who this year won three more trophies: the men’s under-19 European Championship and the women’s U19 and U17 European Championships.
