The Court of Arbitration for Sport decided that the change of the mark of the American Jordan Chiles was done erroneously, the appeal was not submitted in the regulation time. Thus, the athlete from the USA returned to the initial scoring and Ana Maria Bărbosu climbed the podium again, while Sabrina Voinea took 4th place in the floor final at the Olympic Games.

After the TAS decision, the former great gymnast sent the 3 athletes involved in this case the same kind of message: “I’m proud of you!”, for Ana Maria Bărbosu“So proud of you (So proud of you)”, for Sabrina Voinea and “Proud of you”, for Jordan Chiles.

Later, Nadia Comăneci commented on the situation, for Antena 3 CNN: “I am very happy for Romania. It is a long awaited medal after so many years. I am not in an official position to decide who took what and how they did it. I am happy for all three gymnasts. I would have been happy to see three girls there with three medals because they’ve all worked hard and especially in the situation we’re in now with protecting mental health, I think it’s good to encourage and protect these kids. I give Sabrina my Montréal bronze medal.

I congratulate Sabrina for doing a phenomenal exercise and I am happy for their participation in the team as well, because they made history in the team as well. At the same time I also congratulate Jordan because she also should not have entered a zone where it is not her fault what happened.
