Baccalaureate 2024, autumn session. Organization of written tests
On Monday, August 19, the first written test takes place, the one for Romanian language and literature. The exam will start at 9:00 a.m. and students will be able to enter the classrooms until 8:30 a.m. The time for writing the topics for each written test is 180 minutes and is calculated immediately after the distribution of the topics to the candidates. The writing time can be extended, by a maximum of two hours, only in the case of candidates for whom this request has been approved, based on the provisions of Procedure no. 33576/31.10.2022 regarding ensuring equal opportunities for students with visual impairments, hearing impairments and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Rules in the exam hall
Candidates are not allowed access to the exam rooms with textbooks, dictionaries, notes, notes, etc., which could be used to solve the subjects, nor with mobile phones or any electronic means of calculation/communication. Violation of the provisions regarding the introduction of prohibited materials into the exam rooms leads to the elimination of the candidate, regardless of whether the said materials were or were not used.
What digital proofreading entails
Written papers will be scanned in front of candidates and uploaded to a platform where teachers will correct them online. This method was introduced to increase the transparency and fairness of the evaluation process. Once entered into the application, the papers are randomly distributed to two evaluator teachers who also correct them digitally. The final mark is the arithmetic mean to two decimal places, without rounding of the marks awarded and calculated by the IT application on the platform. If the difference between the two grades is greater than one point, the paper is automatically and randomly sent to two other assessors. Then, the final average is calculated again taking into account only the evaluation of the last two teachers.
Conditions to pass the Baccalaureate
A candidate is declared to have passed the national Baccalaureate exam if he simultaneously fulfills the following conditions: he took the skills assessment tests, he took all the written tests, he was graded with a minimum of 5 in each of them and, in the end, he obtained the less average 6. The passing rate of the 2024 Baccalaureate exam, first session (June-July 2024), was 78.2%.
