Violence continues in Turkish football. The last two episodes had the same team, Fenerbahce Istanbul, as their victim. A few months ago, Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch and brawled with the players of the team now coached by Jose Mourinho. And now, the president of the group suffered, after being attacked by Goztepe’s fans, but also by its officials.
At half-time, when Fener was leading 2-0, the president of the Istanbul club, Ali Koc, decided to leave the stand where he was in the first half and move to the one where his team’s supporters were. He stepped onto the turf to move more easily and walked to the edge of the pitch. As he passed the Goztepe supporters, Koc was hit in the head with bottles while being escorted.

Fenerbahce’s captain was then tackled by a home team official, who was picked up by the police and later placed under house arrest. After the president of Fener was put on the ground, the law enforcement took him up and took him to the desired place. The game ended 2-2, with the opponent from Izmir managing to equalize in the second half.
