“Hello! I am Marcel Ciolacu. After consulting with many of you, I have made the decision to run for the Presidency of Romania. I wanted you to learn this from me, and not from the television, because this decision we will debate on Saturday, at the PSD Congress. We have the best team for Romania, as we have shown in all the elections of the last 4 years. I am sure that together we will succeed in winning back the Presidency after 20 years. On Saturday, I will present my Plan for Romania. I hope with all my heart that you will give me the honor to fight on behalf of you and the Romanians. Romania needs stability and balance. I am waiting for you with our campaign. Thank you.Marcel Ciolacu sent in the message.
In addition to the internal message, the PSD leader recorded a video in which he will publicly announce his decision to run. Below is the message that will accompany the official announcement.
“Dear colleagues,
Together we managed to make PSD the main political force in Romania, and together I wish to win the next elections! I am your reliable partner and I am a team player. That is why, following the discussions I had with you, I decided to submit my candidacy for the Presidency of Romania. I am now ready to assume the responsibility of being the president of all Romanians. I believe that I can contribute to the future of my country – a safe and prosperous future. At the Congress on Saturday, I will come before the Romanians with my Plan for Romania and I will ask for your support to win the presidential elections. May God help us!”
PSD President, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, announced on Monday the launch of a platform-programme for the development of Romania that starts from the ideas coming from ordinary people, stating that it is time for the real priorities of Romanians to be reflected in this plan based on which to administer the country in the next 4 years.
The announcement came in the context in which the PSD is preparing the Congress of the party, which is to take place on Saturday, August 24.
