On Tuesday, work began on the new headquarters of the Emergency Hospital of the Ministry of Interior “Prof. Dr. Dimitrie Gerota”. The new medical infrastructure, which will have almost 500 beds, has a completion date of June 30, 2026.
Completion of this project will mean more medical assistance for staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also for citizens of Ilfov, declared, on Tuesday, the Minister of the Interior, Cătălin Predoiu.
“It’s a big project, 490 places, 400 continuous hospitalizations, 50 I understood in intensive care and 40 in day admission, a project that will mean a complex organization inside, in the functionality of the hospital, from what was explained to me, almost revolutionary at the moment we are talking about, we will move to an organization system based on teams and not rigid, on departments, as is happening now in the Romanian medical system, therefore also an avant-garde project. I wrote on that board of memories or memoirs, a few words. I wrote «A concrete project, congratulations to those who give it life!»It is almost completed, in the sense that this stage of preparation, financing, documentation, authorization, etc. is completed. It’s an important stage that has ended“, the minister also said, according to a press release from the Ministry of Interior.
“We have financing, we have a team of experienced builders”
The project will be carried out to quality standards in accordance with the latest requirements in the medical field, and its geographical location is strategic, near the two International Airports, Henry Coandă Otopeni and Aurel Vlaicu Băneasa, thus ensuring integrated medical services in one of the busiest entry/exit areas in Bucharest, where there is currently no emergency hospital, the release states.
“I remember the strong concern that Dr. Moise had, justifiably, for the fate of the project. I told her every time to be quiet. Now I can tell you that I wasn’t always calm in myself, that things would be fine, but that’s the job of a minister. Sometimes you walk like this, on the wire, with no net underneath. It worked out, as they say, it worked out for us, we have financing, we have a team of experienced builders who won a fair competition to build this project, we have passionate and qualified people who can’t wait for him to work in the hospital”. Cătălin Predoiu also said.
