As every year, the transition from summer time to winter time takes place on the last Sunday of October. Romanians switch to winter time on the night between October 26 and 27. In this sense, 4.00 am on Sunday morning will become 3.00 am.

In addition, Sunday, October 27, will be the longest day of the year at 25 hours.
We remind you that inventor and scientist Benjamin Franklin was the one who proposed the switch to daylight saving time. By introducing it, people wanted to be able to enjoy natural light as much as possible and to reduce the use of artificial light. The first country to introduce summer time was Germany in 1916.
Although some are happy to be able to enjoy an extra hour of sleep, the switch to winter time also comes with less pleasant effects. Some people may experience insomnia, anxiety or depression.
However, we can avoid these unpleasant effects by gradually changing our sleep routine. In addition, it is recommended that we avoid using mobile phones before going to bed, but we can listen to soothing music.
It is important that when we want to fall asleep we make sure that we have a suitable ambient temperature and that we do not have light sources in the room, such as the TV.
