“The school belongs to the community. My belief is that victories cannot be just individual and, for deep and lasting change, dialogue is the key. We must be united against any form of aggression”said the minister, announcing the completion of the formalities so that 2.2 billion euro projects for education and professional training can be carried out with European funds, writes news.ro.
“This school year is a special one, the year in which we can talk about visible changes in education for all children, regardless of where they were born. We fought for every class, in every school in Romania, for the children to receive a scholarship to be stimulated to want to be better every day. We support progress, but we also support performance through the Olympic Excellence Scholarships we award. We want the school to be a place for quality education and we have investment in schools like we have never had in the last three decades”said Ligia Deca in the speech held on Monday morning, at the opening ceremony of the school year organized at the Mihai Viteazul National College in Bucharest.
She conveyed that the school can support both performance and inclusion and equity, including with the involvement of local authorities, talking about the investments that have been made and are being made in schools, both in terms of infrastructure and facilities for some categories of students.
“We also talk a lot about green education. 50 green schools will open their doors soon. At the same time, we restore the credibility of dual education, so that the young people who finish school are prepared for the current labor market, and the private sector becomes a real partner for the quality of education. Tomorrow, the first of the 29 dual campuses opens its doors in Oradea. And, as education is not only about infrastructure, we recently completed the formalities so that 2.2 billion euro projects for education and professional training can be carried out with European funds from the Education and Employment Operational Program”, announced Deca.
The Minister of Education sent a message saying that the ministry has zero tolerance for violence in schools.
“The school belongs to the community. My belief is that victories cannot be just individual and, for deep and lasting change, dialogue is the key. (…) We must be united against any form of aggression, for the good of the children, zero tolerance for violence must be a common creed”, Deca said.
The minister also had a message for President Klaus Iohannis: “Mr. President, you are part of the progress we talked about. Thank you for your belief that education is worth every effort and for your investment over the last decade in the belief that education is the basis of any prosperous society, based on values!”.
