Asked by Cătălin Măruță, during Tuesday’s show, to name three qualities that Marcel Ciolacu has and that he does not have, Ciucă answered: “Honor, respect, predictability“, while the moderator asked him, surprised, if he misunderstood the sentence.
“I feel like there is a trap in the middle. Is this answer sure?“, replied moderator Măruță, amazed by Nicolae Ciucă’s answer. Later, during the show, Ciucă said that “it’s a clear answer“.
“Well, if I still talked about words, I think my answer to the first question was interpreted the same way. It was with talc. I mean, I wanted everyone to understand, even at an entertainment show, that in one way Romanians perceive what politicians say and in another way things happen in reality. So we must make a difference as real as possible between what we are as people and what presents us in a certain way, in a certain context or situation, an image that is often processed“, explained Nicolae Ciucă.
The show took place a day after the PNL president announced that he was breaking the coalition with the PSD, accusing the party led by Marcel Ciolacu of having “abuse of power in its DNA”.
Ciucă, mocked by PSD leaders: “Mare Brătianu was looking away when Mr. Ciucă spoke”
The social democrat Alfred Simonis, the elected president of the Timiş County Council, mocked Nicolae Ciucă on Facebook: “One observation: Great Brătianu was looking away when Mr. Ciucă spoke. Otherwise, we thank Mr. Ciucă for his honesty today when he recognized the qualities of Marcel Ciolacu. We would, however, like to borrow something from the Prime Minister’s responsibility in terms of the governing act. Because for now the soldier has kind of run away from the battlefield…“.
Ciucă: “Honor, respect and predictability are precisely the spices missing from Marcel Ciolacu’s recipe”
Because the moment became a viral one, and people’s reactions were not the expected ones, Nicolae Ciucă came back with an addition on Facebook.
“A few things from Cătălin Măruță’s show, to whom I thank for the invitation and with whom I felt excellent:
1. I haven’t tried the hot sauce! And I would have had the opportunity to see how ‘hot’ it is not to reveal the questions. Next time, let it be directly the fastest!
2. Not everyone caught the irony, the interpretation of the answer, as they say here. I thought it was clear that it was a joke, but if it wasn’t “spicy” enough, I’ll explain it now: honor, respect and predictability are precisely the spices missing from Marcel Ciolacu’s recipe!“, wrote Nicolae Ciucă.
