Several candidates for the presidential elections will be present, on Monday, at the religious demonstrations at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iasi, among them Marcel Ciolacu, Nicolae Ciucă, Elena Lasconi, Mircea Geoană, Ludovic Orban and Cristian Diaconescu, claim political sources.

The Iasi branches of PSD and PNL have not officially announced the schedule of the two leaders, Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciucă, but according to some sources, the two will take part in the Holy Liturgy, scheduled on Monday on the pedestrian street in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iasi.
Marcel Ciolacu would visit, during Monday, the Technical University”George Asachi“, the rector of the institution, Dan Caşcaval, being the PSD Iaşi candidate in the first position in the Senate, according to news.ro.
Liberal sources say that PNL leader Nicolae Ciucă will have a meeting with party members in Iasi, but will also participate in an event organized by Iasi City Hall.
Also on Monday, Elena Lasconi (USR), Mircea Geoană (independent), Ludovic Orban (Forţa Dreptei) and Cristian Diaconescu (independent) will be present at the service at the Metropolitan Cathedral. The presence of the AUR leader, George Simion, in Iasi is not certain, sources from the branch state that there are chances that he will still arrive in the city.
The Holy Liturgy is scheduled, Monday morning, on a podium located on the pedestrian Ştefan cel Mare si Sfânt, next to the Altar of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iasi.
The authorities expect several thousand people to attend this service.
Several screens will be installed in the central area of Iasi, on which people will be able to watch the service from the Metropolitan Cathedral.
