Elena Daniela Coteanu, known by the stage name Dana Marijuana, was brought to the Constanța Court of Appeal on Tuesday, October 15, to find out if she will be placed under house arrest or if she will remain behind bars. The court adjourned the ruling until Wednesday.

Upon leaving the court, the artist and two other accomplices from the case were led by agents to the police van. If the other two men told reporters they regretted the act, Dana Marijuana did not want to comment on the subject.
“No comment, no comment, no comment!“, said the artist while getting into the police van.

Elena Daniela Coteanu and the other two suspects were pre-arrested on August 23, 2024 in a drug trafficking case organized by DIICOT Constanța.
Dana Marijuana was tested positive during an anti-drug control carried out during the morning of Thursday, August 22, by the police in the town of 2 Mai in Constanta. During the control carried out, the quantity of approximately 100 grams of cannabis was found and lifted.
The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Constanța Territorial Service ordered her and two other people to be detained.
“Subsequently, four home search warrants were implemented, in the counties of Constanța, Giurgiu and in the city of Bucharest, and 100 tablets of ecstasy (a high-risk drug), quantities of amphetamine (a high-risk drug), ketamine were discovered and seized. (risk drug), 21 tablets to be analyzed, as well as other evidence“, informed DIICOT in August.
Later, the three people were pre-arrested.
On October 8, the Court of Constanța ordered the replacement of the measure of preventive arrest ordered against Dana Marijuana with that of house arrest for a period of 30 days starting from the date of finalization of the decision. The court’s decision was challenged by the DIICOT prosecutors, and the file reached the Constanța Court of Appeal magistrates who will give a final decision on October 16.
