There is a big scandal in AUR, at the national level, after deputy Ringo Dămureanu made a series of revelations regarding the trading of eligible seats in the party in the upcoming election campaign. He says that George Simion is asking for 60,000 euros from candidates who want to be on the lists, and many of his colleagues have already transferred this money.
“In short, for the first county positions, candidates must support pre-campaign and campaign expenses. These things were voted on by the Central National Bureau. That means 100,000 lei, donation, pre-campaign expenses that are not reimbursed and are a donation to the party’s account. The maximum possible amount of 190,000 lei is used for the campaign and a contract is made with the loan party. Many have already gone through this stage. The decision was more difficult for you”it is stated in the message sent by Marius Lulea, first vice-president of AUR, which Ringo Dămureanu made public on the 3.ro channel.
The deputy claims that George Simion did not personally ask him to pay this money, but that the decision was made in the National Management Office, where he makes most of the decisions.
“Exactly a week ago, there was a meeting of the National Management Office where these things were said to the face. Of course, George Simion made sure that the phones were kept outside, and some had already gone even further. The others were also asked to resolve the situation. From that message from Marius Lulea, you can see that it says: in your case (No. Ringo Dămureanu), the decision was made more difficult. I think it was quite difficult for them as the only AUR parliamentarian from Oltenia who also had the best parliamentary activity among all the parliamentarians from Oltenia, regardless of party and I also held the highest position in the Romanian state from the AUR side, he came hard to ask for the money.
You realize that Mr. George Simion does not talk to everyone to ask them for money, but he leads the National Management Office, he leads Mr. Lulea, and you saw that the decision was made more difficult. Asked if Gigi Becali paid this amount of 60,000 euros, the deputy said:
“I don’t think this amount is a problem for Mr. Becali, but think how many dozens of rounds Mr. Becali paid for Pechea (…) I’m talking about what was asked of the candidates for eligible positions, but also talk to Mr. Antonio Andrușceac , because money was also taken from him from the previous campaign, just like that, in these forms. I did not give money to the previous campaign through them, I financed, I repeat, according to the law. It bothers them if you finance your campaign according to the law and not through their scheme.” said Ringo Dămureanu, who announced on Antena 3 CNN that he will finish drafting a denunciation by Monday.
How George Simion reacted to the allegations
George Simion, the leader of the AUR, said the amount of money asked of the candidates is a pre-campaign and campaign contribution.
“It is the contributions to the pre-campaign and the campaign that are made in the account. You won’t see us with a bag, with dirty money. Electoral campaigns in Romania are borne, supported by the candidates. Mr. Dămureanu, like others, was not found again, he did not have the support of the respective branches. I asked them to establish their order on the lists,” George Simion reported.
He also complained that in Bistrita Năsăud the candidates were rejected by the BEJ. George Simion, accusing AUR of a political attack.
After the decision of the BEJ, George Simion said that he will organize a rally in the city and accuses the parties in Bistrita County of being subservient to the PSD.
