A four-night stay between December 30, 2024 and January 3, 2025 costs in Poiana Brașov even two to three times more compared to one at three- and four-star hotels in New York or London, in very good areas.

Romanians who want to spend New Year’s Eve in the Romanian mountain resorts have to dig deep into their pockets, the prices being extremely high compared to top destinations in Western Europe and the United States.
“Adevărul” analyzed and compared prices for a four-night stay for two adults and one child between December 30, 2024 and January 3, 2025 on Booking.com, the world’s largest hotel booking platform.
At three hotels in Poiana Brașov, the prices for four nights for the above-mentioned period exceed 3,000 euros per stay, with breakfast included. The most expensive is Hotel Aurelius Împaratul Romanilor, where the price of a stay between December 30, 2024 and January 3, 2025 is no less than 4,428 euros, followed by Ana Hotels Bradul (3,437 euros) and Hotel Casa Viorel (3,034 euros).

In New York, in Manhattan, the prices for the same period are at least twice lower than in Romania. For example, at the Courtyard New York Manhattan (four stars), the price for four nights, deluxe room with 1 large double bed and a sofa bed, is 2,146 euros. Also in New York, at The Renwick Hotel, the price is 2,195 euros for a private suite. At Hotel 50 Bowery, a double room with two double beds costs 2,214 euros for four nights (two adults and one child).
It should also be said that between December 30, 2024 and January 3, 2025, a return flight to New York for three people costs 2,679 euros.
London is cheap next to Poiana Brașov
In London, one of the most visited cities in the world, the prices for a New Year’s Eve stay are much lower than in Poiana Brașov, and that includes exclusive areas.
For example, a four-night stay at the London Court Hotel in Kensington costs €1,207 for three people. At YHA London Central, located in the Westminster area, the price for a quadruple room between 30 December 2024 and 3 January 2025 is 1,226 euros. Finally, at Cleveland Residence Chelsea, also located in the Kensington area, the stay for the period specified above and also for three people, is 1,124 euros.
And the round-trip flight to London costs 939 euros for three people, round-trip, for the same period. In other words, with everything by plane, a New Year’s Eve stay in London, with very good accommodation, costs on average 2,000 euros. That is, cheaper than the top hotels in Poiana Brașov.
