The PSD would have asked for a Wednesday meeting a government’s investment before Christmas, according to sources quoted by Antena3 CNN. Also PSD would have 7 ministries, PNL 4, USR 3, and UDMR 2.
President Klaus Iohannis convened the new Parliament on December 20, in a meeting from 14.00. The new Parliament will have 465 members, and the PSD is the best represented party, followed by gold, PNL and USR.
More supple government
The new government would have a maximum of 16 ministries, according to political sources News.ro. The same sources also argue that the number of state secretaries will be much lower.
Next week, negotiations will continue with the governing program and reforms of the new coalition, and what ministries each party has.
PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and minorities announced on Tuesday night at the end of a discussion meeting, “The firm commitment for the formation of a pro-European majority in the Romanian Parliament, a pro-European government and the support of a possible common pro-European candidate in the presidential elections.”
According to Antena3.ro, Tuesday’s discussions were extremely general, failing to solve the three hot points of the negotiations: common candidate in the presidential elections, the presence or absence of the USR in the future government and the name or party that will designate the future prime minister.
