On Wednesday evening, after a confrontation full of emotions, Georgiana Ene was named the grand winner of MasterChef, managing to impose herself in front of the other two finalists, Gabriel Șerban and Sebi Dascălu. In an interview for Viva, she revealed that she feels extremely lucky, although up to the age of 45, life has also offered her moments of balance.

Georgiana Ene, who is currently in a relationship with a Spaniard, revealed that she was married, but divorced the moment she realized she made a mistake.

“I love my ex-husband, and I pity him, the poor thing!” she began her confession, admitting that their marriage had started on the wrong side, because, basically, the reason she got married was that she was 35 years old and somehow had to join the world.

“I admit, I don’t have any kind of problem. I got married at 35, because it seemed to me that I was turning 35 and I was still single. I was a person who always thought that he wanted to live his life. I’m very independent and I didn’t like living with anyone in the house. I liked to see my life – you go out, you do, everyone does their own thing after that. My relationships didn’t last very well in general because I got bored easily and being hyperactive it’s hard to keep up with me and I understand that. I don’t know how I hit my head during that time. I said to myself: “Mother, 35 years old! I am unmarried”. And I got married. My ex-husband is dear to me, and I feel sorry for him, the poor thing.” she told.

She is happy with her life and does not want children

Currently, Georgiana Ene is living a love story with a Spaniard, who was her biggest supporter during the entire time she participated in MasterChef.

“I’m lucky that my boyfriend is very understanding and balances me out. Why does it balance me? I’m very agitated, he’s calmer, and when I have that nervous breakdown – this, this, this happened to me – he knows how to listen to me, he knows how to let me calm down and he takes me in his arms. And it’s over. It was hard, because he stayed at home, in Spain, I stayed here”, said Georgiana Ene for Viva.

They both went through a divorce and do not want to get married or have children, because they are happy with their lives now.

“We are both divorced, no children, no desire to have children. We are both passionate about food. We like to travel a lot. We wouldn’t like to have any dogs or cats or anything. We need space, we understand each other’s space, we both lived alone for many years, and the moment two people find themselves like that, they can get along or not, like a magnet. We were patient with each other, he recently had much more patience than I had with him. I admit it, I’m sorry, now he knows my character, only he had to put up with me every night when I came from filming and I would stay for an hour to tell him how it was, how it was cooked… I never put up with it, when he said to me: “But why didn’t you think of doing I don’t know what?”. At that moment, if he was in front of me, I think I would have knocked him upside down on the table. (laughs) Take that pressure, man, and think for yourself in that moment! It’s not easy to watch TV and see this stuff, because we watch MasterChef together. I have always liked the competition, I have also seen the editions from the United States, Spain and, of course, Romania (…)”, told Georgiana Ene about his relationship.

He beat cancer

However, the winner of MasterChef 2024 also had some dramatic moments in her life, and the most difficult to overcome was the one in which she was diagnosed with cancer.

“I had a moment… They told me about the illness, but I didn’t think about the fact that I was going to die. I didn’t even think it was a disease. I was lucky that I was in Spain, and not in Romania, because we all know what the Romanian health system is like, and I probably wouldn’t have had enough money either. I have had cases between friends who died like dogs, with the same disease.” she said.

Confronting the idea of death and the fact that he managed to defeat the disease brought him a reset, Georgiana Ene confesses

“You enjoy everything. You simply get your zest for life back. If until then I was anyway a person who lived my life normally, after I escaped I said I want to travel all over the world, I want to do everything I wanted. And this is a passion of mine, which I’ve always had, and that’s how I got my master’s degree. I did it that way, as an amateur, and I liked it.” she finished her confession.
