Years ago, Mircea Diaconu revealed, in a television show, that he asked Diana Lupescu to be his wife after they talked for hours over coffee.
“In 1979, our first meeting was at the Bulandra Theatre, I wanted to be nice to a fellow actress, I offered her a coffee, she categorically refused me. On the second date, at the sea, we chatted and that was enough. Autumn came, in 1980, I met Eugenia Vodă, it was raining, I asked Diana for her phone number, that’s all. I felt the need to call her, I told her that I have business in Moldova, I can have a coffee at your place, in Bacău.
I got there, “have a coffee, because you said so”, I drank a coffee in the kitchen, we talked about the theater, I went into the living room, I didn’t think about anything before, but at that moment it occurred to me I ask her: “If I asked you to marry me, what would you say?”. “I would agree,” she replied. We continued to chat. Then, in the evening, I asked her once more: «Let’s be serious, will you?». And it’s been 41 or so years since then, we got married, divine years”said Mircea Diaconu, during the show “40 questions with Denise Rifai”.
The actor Mircea Diaconu, who played memorable roles in films such as “Filanthropica”, “Why do they ring the bells, Mitică”, “Buletin de București”, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The lifeless body of the great actor will be laid to rest on Monday , between 12.00 and 16.00, at the Nottara Theatre, and the funeral will take place on Tuesday, at the cemetery in Săftica.
