The civic Rădăuțiul association came up with a test for citizens to distinguish an image generated with artificial intelligence from a real one.
Test for citizens to detect images generated with AI/PHOTO: Facebook Civic Rădăuțiul
“Simple disinformation test and test of Internet users’ abilities to distinguish real from fake content (even if it’s on a local pamphlet page) in the online environment, on Rădăuți Fail”the association begins.
In the picture is a woman, whom the Rădăuți Fail page says is a pilot from Rădăuţi and the only woman at the Suceava airport. Next, they present the details that give the empty image, such as the female pilot having six fingers on her left hand.
That is why the Rădăutiul Civic Association recommends citizens to be critical of any online text.
“An image generated with artificial intelligence, a text that sounds good and makes us proud (pilot from Rădăuți, what’s more, the only woman at Suceava airport) – for example – 6 fingers on the lady’s left hand.
The technique is used by all pages that post beautiful images and texts that generate reach and user interactions, so that later on those pages messages are sent according to the interests of the respective page (such as, for example, political messages).
Read any text online with a critical eye, friends,” they also wrote.
The comments were not slow to appear, with some netizens outraged by the countless posts generated by artificial intelligence, the purpose for which they are used (manipulation) and the lack of critical thinking on the part of those who interact with such posts.
“If only there was only one page with such AI-generated photos, but there are hundreds of such pages, rotating dozens of such images daily”one person said.
“Rough handling”, pointed out another netizen.
“In a world where a ‘like’ has more value than a neuron, it’s proof that the social experiment has succeeded.” another person said.
