The third module of the school year 2024-2025 will start on a Wednesday, i.e. January 8. Basically in the middle of the week, which is quite unusual. But this decision was made for a reason.

Students will enter winter break on December 20th and return to school on January 8th. This situation is due to the fact that, starting from 2025, the Government has regulated two new days off: January 6 and 7, when both students and budget workers will stay at home.
In 2025, there will be 17 legal holidays: four of them fall on weekends and 13 on weekdays. For the first time, January 6 and 7 are also free. It is about the Epiphany and the celebration of Saint John the Baptist. According to the Directorate for the Records of Persons, in Romania there are over 1.3 million men who bear the name of Ioan or its derivatives and over 650,000 women who, in the same way, also celebrate their name. With these two extra days off, in total January will have 5 days off, if we add the 1st, 2nd and 24th.

- August 15, Assumption of the Virgin Mary;

2024-2025 school year calendar
Module 1: from Monday, September 9, 2024 to Friday, October 25, 2024;
Autumn vacation: from Saturday, October 26, 2024 to Sunday, November 3, 2024;
Module 2: from Monday, November 4, 2024 to Friday, December 20, 2024;
Winter vacation: from Saturday, December 21, 2024 to Tuesday, January 7, 2025;
Module 3: from Wednesday, January 8, 2025, to Friday, February 7, 2025, respectively Friday, February 14, 2025, or Friday, February 21, 2025, as the case may be, at the decision of the county/municipality school inspectorates of Bucharest, following consultations with the primary beneficiaries of education, with their parents/legal representatives and teachers, carried out at the level of educational units;
Ski/furniture holiday: one week, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/Bucharest municipality, between February 10 and March 2, 2025;
Module 4: from Monday, February 17, 2025, respectively Monday, February 24, 2025, or Monday, March 3, 2025, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/ of the Bucharest municipality, as the case may be, until Thursday, April 17, 2025;
Spring Break: Friday, April 18, 2025 through Sunday, April 27, 2025;
Module 5: from Monday, April 28, 2025 to Friday, June 20, 2025;
Summer vacation: from Saturday, June 21, 2025 to Sunday, September 7, 2025.
