According to a survey conducted by Travelminit.roone of the biggest players in the hotel booking market in Romania, the costs of winter holidays are about to increase for many Romanians.
Rates for accommodation during the holidays in Valea Prahova start from 1,500 lei
In the big cities, the rates for two to three nights of accommodation for Christmas or New Year start from 1,000 – 1,200 lei, and in the mountain resorts (Valea Prahova, for example) the rates start from 1,500 – 2,000 lei for a holiday stay .
In spa resorts, such as Băile Felix and Băile Herculane, a winter vacation package starts at 1,200 lei for a few nights’ accommodation.
These prices are only basic and can of course increase significantly if festive meals or other amenities are added.
Half of the Romanians, willing to allocate up to 3,000 lei for the winter vacation
Another interesting aspect that the survey brought to the fore is how much Romanians are willing to spend on their vacations. According to the data, 43.6% of Romanians will allocate between 1,000 and 3,000 lei for the winter vacation, and 23.1% of them are willing to invest between 3,000 and 5,000 lei for a more luxurious stay.
On the other hand, 22.1% of Romanians prefer more affordable options, with a budget below 1,000 RON, and 11.3% would allocate more than 5,000 lei for a dream vacation.
In addition to the tradition and magic of the holidays, the season’s steep prices have led many to plan their vacations in January or later.
It is certain that the winter holidays represent an opportunity to spoil yourself, to spend time with your loved ones, but also to enjoy the charm of Romanian traditions. And the budgets that Romanians are willing to allocate for these special moments reflect the desire to live these moments to the maximum, but also the increased attention paid to costs.
Regardless of your budget, Romania offers a variety of destinations that can satisfy any type of requirement – from lively mountain resorts to charming Christmas markets in historic cities.
