The Social Democratic Party (PSD) announced that on Sunday, December 22, 2024, the National Political Council of the party will meet starting at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will take place in physical and online format, at PSD headquarters located on Kiseleff Street, no. 10, in Bucharest.

The meeting of the National Political Council is expected to address important topics related to the political strategy of the party, the positioning within the negotiations for the formation of the new government and the designation of a candidate for the position of prime minister. This comes before the consultations convened by President Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Palace, where PSD leaders, along with those of PNL, UDMR and the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities, will participate for discussions on the formation of the government.
