George Simion attacks Crin Antonescu, a presidential candidate: “He is still the man of the system. Mr. Ponta is still missing and everything is perfect”

The leader of AUR, George Simion, commented on the possible designation of Crin Antonescu, as the only candidate of the Coalition, stating that he is “a man of the system”.

“He is a man of the system. A man who was also present in the political scene in 1996, and in 2000, and in 2004 and in 2012, during that coup attempt. Mr. Crin Antonescu is still the man of the system, they invented him. Mr. Ponta is also missing and everything is perfect. Instead of going forward, we go backwards. That is, we vote to choose so that they all choose among themselves”said George Simion, at Digi 24.

The AUR party refused to participate in the consultations with President Klaus Iohannis on Sunday.

The AUR leader also says that he will not vote for the new government, which he claims to be
“illegitimate like President Klaus Iohannis”.

“How to vote for him in Parliament? It is a government as illegitimate as this president, Klaus Iohannis. It is exactly the voice of the people that Marcel Ciolacu heard. That’s what he heard that he has to leave the same ministers, he has to be the prime minister. It’s a mockery of the Romanian vote, of democracy. They also want to stay, Klaus Iohannis, Marcel Ciolacu also stayed”, Simion also said.

The negotiations between PSD, PNL and UDMR for the formation of the Ciolacu Government have ended. Thus, PSD has 8 ministries, PNL – 6 and UDMR – 2.
