A Romanian who wanted to make his relatives in the province happy by sending them a holiday package, experienced a big disappointment. Three weeks after he sent the package, he woke up with it at home, brought by the courier company, but he had an unpleasant surprise when he opened it.

A Bucharest resident who wanted to send a holiday package to his relatives in Târgu Jiu reported the strange incident he went through three weeks after sending the package.
“On December 16, 2024, I sent a package to the municipality of Târgu Jiu, where I have two relatives, an uncle and an aunt, aged 93 and 82, immovable, my aunt being completely blind. I wanted to make them happy by sending them a package containing three items (a large 1.5 kilo piece of sheep’s cheese for my old uncle, a perfume for my aunt and a small box of sweets)” , the man said.
The sheep’s cheese, gone after three weeks
The products were packed according to the requirements of the courier company, in a cardboard box, and after he made a request for shipment from his address in Bucharest, the company’s employees took over the package, weighing about two kilograms, on December 19. He was told that as it was the holiday season there could be delays in the company’s deliveries.
“On December 27, 2024, I was notified by email that the package would be returned to me, after I realized that the relatives in Târgu Jiu did not have the chance to receive the Christmas package, but without being given a reason for the return of the package. I waited with the hope that somehow the parcel would be sent again to the address in Târgu Jiu, but on Friday, January 3, I received it in the form of a bag containing only the perfume and the candy box, which was also opened. I opened the bag in the presence of the courier. I asked him where the box in which I delivered the package was and he told me that this was the only thing that was given to him from the warehouse and that is what he is returning and that he does not know anything”. the man complained.
The representatives of the courier company could not be contacted to explain the circumstances in which the sheep’s cheese disappeared from the package sent three weeks ago.
During the day of Friday, he mentions, he repeatedly tried to contact the representatives of the courier company at its functional telephone number.
“Each time the robot came in, being informed that all employees were involved in conversations and that my order number was between 86 and 170. My emails are not being answered. I wrote an email in which I mentioned that the package was opened and an item was missing from it, but I have no hope of any response”, the man complains.
He adds that after the trouble he experienced, he is thinking of contacting the Police, to complain about the opening of the package and that he can no longer trust any courier company.
