In his short speech at the 2025 Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy/Musical, Sebastian Stan thanked his mother, Georgeta Orlovschi, who left everything behind and went with her son from Romania to offer it a better future.
Georgeta Orlovschi, pianist by profession, left Romania after the Revolution, her first stop being Vienna where she lived for 3 years. From there he went to the United States of America where he still lives.

During high school, Sebastian participated in numerous school theater productions, including “Harvey”, “Cyrano de Bergerac” and “West Side Story”, thus discovering his passion for acting.
He later studied at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, where he had the opportunity to spend a year at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London, an experience that honed his acting talent. He graduated in 2005 and became a US citizen in 2002.
