Over the years, the Pitesti Philharmonic has organized hundreds of closed house concerts. In addition, this is also the first green philharmonic in Romania, with its own virtual stage.

On January 30, at the Pitesti Philharmonic, Jonathan Tetelman, one of the most acclaimed tenors in the world, will give an extraordinary concert. In the 2023-2024 season, Jonathan Tetelman also debuted on the stage of the famous Metropolitan Opera in New York, in the role of Ruggero in Puccini’s immortal “La rondine”.

The prestigious American newspaper “The New York Times” said of Jonathan Tetelman that he is “a total star”.

An average of one show every 3 days

“I managed to improve through many things in the premiere the activity of the Pitesti Philharmonicboth artistically and administratively. We practically have an average of one event every 3 days, year after year. First of all, year after year, we had a bigger budget, I managed to convince the local administration that we need this. Then I got new positions. Both in the orchestra and in the administrative. I bought a bunch of new tools. We tried, through investments, to reduce future expenses: photovoltaic panels, we are the first green philharmonic in Romania, plus LED lighting. We have a virtual stage, people from all over the world can watch us. All investments were made with money from the Ministry of Development”Gabriel Niță, manager of the Pitesti Philharmonic from February 2021, told “Adevărul”.

On the stage of the Pitesti Philharmonic, pop-rock-symphonic concerts were introduced for the first time, with first-rate bands such as Proconsul, Direcția 5, Voltaj, Holograf, Vița de Vie, Mono Jacks, Bere Gratis and Phoenix. In March 2024, the band Iris will perform a rock-symphonic concert on the stage of the Pitesti Philharmonic.

Currently, the Pitesti Philharmonic has 57 employees.

“Inside, I tried to be an iron hand in a velvet glove. I believe that the field is a sensitive one and not everyone can manage a team made up mostly of artists. We have a principle, which we pass on every time. I do my best for them, and they do their best for the institution. We are a small philharmonic compared to others, but we compensate with a lot of team involvement”says manager Gabriel Niță.

The year 2025 will bring two more premiere festivals at the Pitesti Philharmonic, one of jazz and the other of classical music.
