The interim president of the PNL, Ilie Trump, categorized as a political game the accusations regarding the restriction of the right to vote with the change of the program abroad. According to the liberal, the candidate of the Coalition, Crin Antonescu, must reconnect with the electorate, especially with the young people.
The leader stated that the candidate FOTO Inquam Photos will not be changed
“Here again it is a political game, we must not hide from this formula. The government, through the ordinance it adopted, established a time for voting to be completed worldwide, in the sense of the time of completion in Romania. But, at the same time, compensatory, instead of Friday, voting starts at noon, voting starts on Friday morning. So, these two or three hours that are lost, let’s say, to the vote, where the time zone is totally different from Romania’s, in the United States, for example, are won by voting on Friday morning. So nothing is lost. And, practically, 99% of the Romanian diaspora, which is concentrated in Europe, let’s not hide, has a few extra hours”, declared Ilie Bolojan, to Euronews, regarding the criticisms coming from the political environment, after the Government Ordinance which established that voting in the Diaspora ends at 9:00 p.m. Romanian time.
The liberal recalled what happened after the announcement of the exit poll in Romania, when “calls were made and campaigning continued in certain sections of the United States, with voters in a certain way, to recover and so on.”
Ilie Bolojan specified that it is not “a defender of the Permanent Electoral Authority, but seeks to treat a problem correctly, not to make it just a reason for a press release and a scandal”.
Bolojan also specified that in the electoral campaign, Crin Antonescu must reconnect with the electorate, especially the young electorate, convey his messages and say what he wants to do for Romania.
“I personally trust him, because I have worked with him for many years, I know him, he is a man who I am convinced will do this and will fight for Romania, if he is elected president”the PNL president also said.
About the polls ordered by the coalition, Ilie Bolojan said that they will be completed in the coming days.
