Students, teachers, as well as employees from several institutions will benefit from a day off on January 24, according to the provisions of the Labor Code. Employers who require employees to work on public holidays are required to provide compensation either with pay or a day off at a later date.

In January 2025, employees in Romania benefited from 4 legal days off (until January 24). In total, the year 2025 includes 17 days off provided by the state, of which 13 are on weekdays and 4 on weekends.
