Crin Antonescu was asked, Tuesday evening, on Antena 3, what happened to return to politics, although Brătianu did not come back to life.
“About Brătianu’s resurrection, I said this, it’s true, it was an error of judgment, I was wrong, look, I’m back, I have an eternity to be flawless, like all of us. But the idea was, when I said it, my conviction, that something so out of the ordinary cannot happen.” answered Crin Antonescu, writes news.ro.
He stated, however, that he is not convinced that Brătianu himself could solve Romania’s current problems.
“I am not at all convinced that if Brătianu were alive today, I don’t think he would solve our problem, because Brătianu, be it the old man, Ion or Ionel, the most famous of the sons, the others, the Brătians, did the things that – they did, we are talking about the good and the great, then in that world, at that time. Now I’m afraid it wouldn’t help us much. It was a formula, it has nothing to do with Brătianu what are we living with now”also declared Crin Antonescu.
In 2017, Crin Antonescu declared, also on Antena 3: “And if Brătianu comes back to life, Ionel, which you want, I will not return to active politics”.
