Elena Lasconi, president of USR, launched a message on the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, stressing that Romania is more divided than ever and that we should make “every day a Day of Union” to reconcile and focus on what we can achieve together.

The president of USR, Elena Lasconi, sent an emotional message on the occasion of the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, emphasizing the fact that Romania is more divided than ever and urging national unity. In his opinion, we should make every day a “Unity Day”, considering that currently, Romanians are increasingly divided and argue among themselves for the deeds of others.
“My dears, January 24 is an important day for all of us: the Day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities. But don’t you think we should make every day Union Day? We are more divided than ever. We have divided ourselves into camps, we argue with each other for what others do, we no longer listen to each other. Let’s not forget what we can do together“, said Elena Lasconi.
Next, Lasconi highlighted the valuable lesson of history, emphasizing that the Union was possible precisely because of the understanding of the power of unity, not division. She recalled that 166 years ago, the forefathers of the Romanians demonstrated that union brings strength and success.
“166 years ago Union of Principalities it was possible because our ancestors understood how strong we are together, not divided. Let’s not forget this lesson from our history and maybe in 2025 we should use Cuza’s opportunity again, to catch all those who do not show us respect, all those who trample justice. This is the only way we will move forward. Let’s be united, let’s be strong together. This is what I wish you on our day of celebration”Lasconi also stated.
