Vlad Oprea went to the headquarters of the Police in Sinaia, where he declared, according to Digi24, that behind the accusations against him is “an interest group that wants to seize Sinaia”.
“I am forbidden to talk to some people, some I don’t even know and I am subject to the measure of judicial control, that is, I am not allowed to enter the town hall, to exercise my mandate as mayor. It is clear that behind these actions is the same interest group that wants to seize Sinaia, and it is clear that I have no connection whatsoever with those who tricked dozens of Romanians into buying apartments 2 or 3 times, which is and an unacceptable thing”, declared Vlad Oprea.
The mayor denied taking bribes and said he would contest the charges.
The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) requested judicial control and a bail of 600,000 lei in the case of the mayor of Sinaia, Vlad Oprea, who was searched on Wednesday and detained on Thursday.
Oprea is accused of having bribed the head of Nordis, Vladimir Ciorbă, to issue more approvals. The one who denounced him at the mayor’s office is the owner of Nordis, Vladimir Ciorbă. He stated that he did not take the decision as a result of the investigation published by the Recorder journalists.
“A few clarifications regarding the “Mayor of Sinaia – Nordis” press issue: Since the summer of last year, I have submitted numerous notifications to the DNA and other competent bodies, the last complaint being a denunciation against the mayor of Sinaia, Vlad Oprea. The information that this report was made as a result of the Recorder’s investigation is completely false and biased.” stated Vladimir Ciorbă in a post on Facebook.
For his part, the head of Nordis accused that he and his associates were the repeated target of some institutions controlled by a group from the former PNL leadership.
