In 2025, Erzurum is preparing to meet their guests with two remarkable distinctions, granted by ACES Europe-the European Federation of Capital and Cities dedicated to sport.
The title of the first European Winter Sports capital for 2025 is a new category introduced by this Europe and emphasizes the status of Erzurum as a leader in the infrastructure of winter sports. The city offers some of the most modern and well -equipped facilities in Europe for ski, snowboarding and ice skating.
Over the years, Erzurum has strengthened his reputation as a host of prestigious international competitions, including world and European championships dedicated to winter sports. Palandöken resort not only offers ideal ski slopes, but also hosts world -renowned competitions. One of the most anticipated events is The “Snowboard World Cup” (SBX), which returns in 2025 to Palandöken between 1 and 3 March.
For three days, adrenaline lovers will be able to watch palpitating races and amazing performances of international athletes. The competition will be transmitted on national and international channels of profile.

Erzurum will also be the host of captivating events throughout the year. Between 7 and 10 February Palandöken will host “The ice climbing championship” from Turkey, organized by the Turkish federation of climbing.
