The lice especially infest children. Archive
Here are some solutions to get rid of children from this unpleasant situation. We say unpleasant because these small insects cause irritation of the scalp, redness, but especially strong itching.
What are the lice
Pediculosis is a dermatological condition produced by lice. These are small insects that feed on the host’s blood: man and animals. The most common symptom of head lice is itching in the scalp, neck and ears. This is an allergic reaction to lice bites and is caused by their saliva. When a person has lice for the first time, itching may not appear for 4 to 6 weeks. There are three species of lice that can affect the man: the lice of the head, the lice of the body and the clothes and the wide lice.
Head lice
The heads of the head live about 30 days, during which time it lays the eggs (lindine), which is fixed on the hair rod. After the lice comes out of the egg, the latter becomes whitish. Children are most affected by this species. At the same time, most likely due to the length of the hair, the girls become more frequently compared to the boys.
Body lice
The body lice is fixed on the clothes, from which they descend only to feed. It does not withstand high temperature, being destroyed by washing and ironing clothes.
The lice wide
The wide lice adheres to pubic hair, but it can colonize axles, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, hair on the trunk and limbs. Usually infest young men.
How the lice are taken
The head lice are parasites that are transmitted from one person to another by direct contact. The main way of transmission is the CAP contact or the close contact with an infested person. This transmission can occur as a result of frequent social interactions, such as playing in the group, hugs or division of personal objects, such as hats, hair brushes, headphones or comb.
Head lice cannot jump or fly. They move only by climbing on the hairs. This makes the hair the main transport route for lice from one person to another. Head lice infestations are more common in the environments in which people live or work near and interact tightly to each other, such as schools, kindergartens, camps, jobs or care centers.
It is also important to note that head lice cannot live too long outside the human body. They are dependent on human blood, which is why their survival on other surfaces is limited. Therefore, the transmission of head lice through objects such as hats, hair brushes or bed linen is less common than direct transmission through physical contact.
How do we get rid of lice children
The best treatments against lice consist in the application of insecticides, systemic treatment or physical methods.
Insecticides with local application are the first -line treatments for head pediculosis. Wipe hair combing for 15-60 minutes is an alternative solution, used for infants and patients who prefer to avoid topical drugs.
These solutions must be applied according to the instructions on the packaging and the doctor’s advice.
How to apply special insecticid solutions
Hair conditioners should not be applied before the use of treatment substances, as the effectiveness of the treatment decreases.
The rinse of the solution should be done over a sink and not in the shower or bath, to limit the exposure of the skin.
Rinning with hot water is preferable to hot water, to minimize vasodilation and systemic absorption.
After treatment, eggs can persist without content; To ease their removal, the hair can be rinsed with a diluted acetic acid solution and/or comb with a often comb.
The physical methods of removing the lice consist of shaving the hairs. The use of electric brushes (which aim to electrocute lice) or hot air (high volume -blown air in the scalp for 30 minutes) are the therapies still in clinical studies.
