Eduard Hellvig, the former director of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), answered Călin Georgescu after the threats made by him telling him “to stay in his bank”.
Hellvig posted on the X platform a series of statements related to the threats received and made some observations related to the behavior of Călin Georgescu, a candidate for the presidential elections.
“I recently received in public a series of threats with unrelated disclosures from Mr. Georgescu C. (no Călin). It is not an earthquake novelty, I was threatened. And how much I was minister, and countless times during the SRI term“Hellvig wrote, X. He recalled that he was claimed and investigated by the National Integrity Agency even when he held the position of Minister of Development, claiming that they were:”Other times, other works”.
The former head of the SRI stressed that what is happening now is different because it is threatened by Călin Georgescu, in the race for the presidential function.
“But now something new is happening. I am threatening a gentleman who is in the race for the presidential function. And this is not honorable, on the contrary, it should give us an image of the future it proposes to us“He added.
Hellvig claims he doesn’t know Georgescu
Eduard Hellvig claims that he did not know Georgescu, although he is addressed with the name “EDI”: “We do not know each other, we have never intersected in any of the public qualities we have held. Not in the private ones. I met hundreds or thousands of people, but not his reign. Simply. However, Mr. Georgescu C. refers to me with the name “Edi”. A diminutive that friends, and friends, sometimes also use the acquaintances who want to project a large city illusory. It is not an end of the country, no impolites to shake me, but I understand why Mr. Georgescu C. wants to leave a familiar impression”.
What Calin Georgescu said about Hellvig
Calin Georgescu recently threatened the Minister of Interior, the director of SIE and Eduard Hellvig, the former director of the SRI.

Hellvig’s reaction, after the threats received
Hellvig, the former director of the SRI, says about the threats received that they are “bombs”, saying that Georgescu is based on imagination and manipulation to support statements without substance.
“His reign comes with some “bombs” that he wants to leave the impression that they are a result of good knowledge about the services. In reality, Mr. Georgescu works a lot from the imagination and leaves too easily, fooled, sent to advance with statements without real substance. He also explained that Georgescu, through this behavior, represents a phenomenon called “Securism”.
“Monoatomic and self-sufficient, Mr. Georgescu’s security is manifested by threats and by denying any freedom of opinion contrary to his vision. I have repeatedly said that I will not run for any position. This does not mean that I do not have the right and freedom (and at times the obligation), like any citizen in a democracy, to take attitude when the values in which they believe are questioned. I cannot let the threats grinned to reduce me to silence, as I will not answer as I would have answered if I had no public functions you know. Politics, in essence, also involves such locals ”, says Hellvig.
Finally, the former director of the SRI raised questions about who is behind these attacks and who influences Georgescu to expose the ridicule.
“However, there are some legitimate questions in the air whose answer cannot be very simple. Who has an interest in taking his nose on Mr. Georgescu? Who sends it to television to expose itself to the ridiculous? Who knowingly turns it into a solemn arrow? He answers (vaguely) even his reign – the patriotic officers.
