Module 1: Monday, September 8, 2025 – Friday, October 24, 2025;
Module 2: Monday, November 3, 2025 – Friday, December 19, 2025;
Module 3: Thursday, January 8, 2026 – Friday, February 6, 2026, respectively Friday, February 13, 2026 or Friday, February 20, 2026, as the case may be, at the decision of the school inspectorates following the consultations with the primary beneficiaries of education and with the teachers;
Module 4: Monday, February 16, 2026, respectively Monday, February 23, 2026 or Monday, March 2, 2026, at the decision of the school inspectorates as the case may be, until Friday, April 3, 2026;
Module 5: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 – Friday, June 19, 2026.
“School otherwise” and “Green Week” in the school year 2025-2026
The national program “School otherwise” and the program “Week Green” are carried out between September 8, 2025 – April 3, 2026, within intervals of 5 consecutive working days, whose planning is made by the educational unit. The two programs are planned in different modules.
The schools have a deadline until April 1, 2025 to announce students and parents when they chose to be the mobile holiday week of February 2026 and the programs of the Green Week and the week “School otherwise”.
In the classes in high school education – the technological and professional education chain, during the periods dedicated to the programs “School otherwise” and “Green Week” are organized practical training activities, following the purpose of these programs.

When the courses for students in the terminal classes end
Students who have to take the national exams will end the school year earlier. Thus, for the 12th day, the 13th evening and reduced frequency, the school year has a duration of 34 weeks of courses and ends on June 5, 2026. For the eighth grade, the school year has a duration of 35 weeks of courses and ends on June 12, 2026. a duration of 37 weeks of courses and ends on June 26, 2026. For the classes in post-secondary education, the duration of the courses is the one established by the educational framework in force.
Calendar of school year 2025-2026. When will students have vacation
- Autumn holiday: Saturday, October 25 – Sunday, November 2, 2025.
- Winter holiday: Saturday, December 20, 2025 – Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
- Ski holiday/mobile holiday – one week, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/of the municipality of Bucharest, between February 9 and March 1, 2026; Easter/spring holiday: Saturday, April 4, 2026 – Tuesday, April 14, 2026; Summer holiday: Saturday, June 20, 2026 and will last until Sunday, September 6, 2026.
- On October 5 – International Education Day and on non -working/legal holidays no courses are organized.
