The Union of Students of Romania (USR) addresses an official invitation to the two qualified candidates in the second round of the presidential elections – George Simion (Aur) and Nicuşor Dan (independent) – to participate in a public debate with young people and students.
The event is proposed for Friday, May 16, at 12:00, and the details related to the location are to be announced soon. The invitation was published on the official Instagram page of the USR, being accompanied by a firm message: “You didn’t call us. So we call you. “
Student representatives point out that a sincere discussion of education and the professional future of the young generation is urgent.
“We want answers, not slogans. Our training and prospects for the future deserve a sincere discussion“I convey.
Students believe that, in the absence of an initiative from the candidates, it is their duty to create a dialogue space to listen to the voice of young people.
The second round of the presidential elections is scheduled for May 18. The two candidates who face are George Simion, supported by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (gold), who obtained almost 41% of the votes in the first round, and Nicuşor Dan, the current general mayor, an independent candidate, voted by about 21% of the voters.
