A Romanian aviation company has started operating flights from Bucharest to the capital of Syria. Two women, pilot and co -pilot

The Romanian airline Dan Air started on Sunday to operate races from Bucharest to Damascus, being currently the only airline in Europe with direct flights to the capital of Syria.

“The demand for this destination is very high. The aircraft leaving today (Sunday, June 15) is 100%occupied! We will operate flights between Bucharest and Damascus all year. Also, the average occupancy rate of the other flightsaid Matt Ian David on Sunday, CEO of Air Company Dan Air, who was also on board the aircraft that connects Bucharest to the capital of Syria, writes News.

He stated, during an event at Otopeni Airport, that the discussions on the project started in 2022 and since then the company has made five flights “of recognition ”” between Romania and Syria.

There are two women in the pilot cabin: Commander Cristina Preda and Crrătot Andreea Penca. In fact, Cristina Preda is the only woman who holds the position of flight director of an airline in Europe.

At this moment, the Romanian company is the only one in the European Union that operates direct commercial flights in Syria.

The cost of a ticket on the Bucharest – Damasc route starts from 129 euros, but as the demand increases, and the degree of loading of the aircraft is higher, this is also reflected in changing the tariff of the air ticket.

In total, between June 15 and October 25, 152 flight segments will be operated.

Also, Dan Air will connect the capital of Syria, Damascus, and with Berlin, the flights being operated in Bucharest. Flights to Berlin take place on Tuesday and Friday.

The company owns three aircraft, two 180 -seat Airbus A320 and an A319 aircraft of 144 seats.

Other international companies flying to and from Damascus are Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Royal Jordanian and Kuwait Airways.
