The athlete Avram Iancu ended the swimming race by which he set out to cross the Main channel, Germany, between the RIN and the Danube rivers. He is the first man in the world to swim Europe on the main watercourses, from the North to the Black Sea.

The athlete swam the 556 km of the Main-Danube Canal in 40 days, without wearing a neoprene suit, the end of the race being recorded on Friday night, at the confluence with the Danube River
“I managed to cross the whole of Europe swimming! No neoprene suit. In the world premiere: from the North Sea to the Black Sea. Thus, I became the first man in the world to cross a swimming continent, following the famous Rin-Main-Danube river route ”Iancu noted on his official Facebook page.
This race took place under the generic “Swimming for a united Europe ”ŞI that after ratifying this stage has the chance to receive the distinction “The World’s First ‘Triple Crown of Rivers Stage Swims’ Challenge “offered by profile organizations for swimming in open waters.
“In total: 177 days, that is, 6 months-half a year of continuous swimming. A half year away from the family, my wife and little girls. And this, in just 3 years of career! I know that they understand, maybe better than anyone, the sacrifices I had to do.said the athlete.
Avram Iancu was accompanied in this project by Ulysses Galu, from Brasov, the pilot of the motor boat with which various things necessary for the athlete, and by Radu Ilean, from Alba Iulia, official observer of the race were transported.
