FCSB, Craiova University and CFR Cluj have won victories in European preliminaries, marking a perfect evening for Romanian football. The three successes, even though they brought only two qualifications in the Europa League and Conference League groups, brought an important jump in the UEFA standings.

CFR Cluj left the European cups after a victory, 1-0 and a drastic failure with Hacken (2-7), but Romania will have two representatives in the big football: FCSB is in the main phase of the Europa League, after 2-2 and 3-0 with Aberdeen, and the University of Craiova will evolve in the Conference League group, after passing Istanbul Bașakșehir 3-1.
Last night’s results brought an extra 1.4 points in the UEFA coefficient ranking, so Romania has climbed the 21st place, in the hierarchy for the last 5 years, with a total of 22,750 points, exceeding Croatia, Hungary and Serbia.

If the results in the group will continue to be as good and Romania will be maintained in the first 22, the country’s champion will start from the preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League starting with season 2027/28. Hungary and Serbia have only one team in competitions, and Croatia only two.
