Tickeses can be used by the end of October
The Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE), together with the Ministry of Education and Research, announced that the period of use of educational vouchers worth 500 lei has been extended. The new deadline is the date of October 31, 2025.
The decision was taken in the Government meeting on Thursday, August 28, given that the unused amounts on the cards summed 29.109.637 lei.
According to MIPE, the measure offers additional time to the beneficiaries to access financial support and aims to facilitate the purchase of products and services necessary for students at the beginning of the school year.
“We know how important the first days of school are for each child and how big the expenses for parents can be. Through the amounts transferred and by expanding the period of use of money, we make sure that support from European funds is available when it is the highest. The education of our children must be a priority, and the European funds help us to support the children from all the environment.”said Dragoș Pîslaru, Minister of European Investments and Projects.
Over 666,000 cards, fed in 2024-2025
In the school year 2024-2025, Mipe fueled 666,373 educational cards, each with the support of 500 lei.
Of these, 18,228 cards were loaded in August 2025, based on the validations made by the Ministry of Education and Research.
The total value transferred for the current school year was 333,186,500 lei, related to the cards confirmed by the educational units as being taught to parents or legal representatives of eligible children.
Support continues in the following years
The program will be financed in school years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, when students from disadvantaged environments will receive, as before, an annual support of 500 lei, in a single installment.
The educational cards are supported by European funds, through the program inclusion and social dignity 2021-2027, continuing the measures previously implemented through the Operational Program to help the disadvantaged persons 2014-2020.
