Minister Alexandru Rogobete declares war on misinformation
The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, intends to send the control body of his institution to the hospitals where the doctors who have transmitted false information about vaccination during the event held on Saturday, in Brasov, according to Antena3.ro.
Rogobete intends to notify the Prosecutor’s Office in this case, after the checks at the level of the medical units.
He had a harsh reaction on his Facebook page and asked all the subordinate institutions to take harsh measures against those who spread with false information.
“Medical misinformation is a direct attack on the health of the Romanians. I do not negotiate with the lie and I will not allow anyone to undermine the confidence of patients in modern treatments.
I ask professional societies to analyze through the ethics committees the behavior of the doctors who choose to spread fakes in the public space, including through “pseudoconferences” emptied of any scientific content. They extend the request including to the Romanian College of Physicians to take emergency measures. It is a time when the medical body must form its own antibodies, firmly sanctioning any deviation from the responsibility of doctors towards the truth and towards the patients. In the face of manipulation, there is no neutrality.
It is intolerable that such untruths are propagated by people who bear the title of doctors. The oath of patients means truth and science, not manipulation and conspiracies ” wrote Rogobete Minister on Facebook.

“In the last period, health messages and opinions have appeared in the public space that are not based on scientific evidence and which can create confusion or fear. Some of these messages are promoted by people with medical training, but who choose to ignore the fundamental knowledge acquired in the Faculty of Medicine and the recommendations validated by the international community.”is the recommendation transmitted by conf. Univ. dr. Horațiu-Remus Moldovan, president of CNAS, quoted by Agerpres.
Such unfounded information, he says, are a real danger to the health of the population: they can delay the presentation to the doctor, can prevent a correct and time diagnosis and can affect the success of the treatments.
“CNAS assures you that: the doctors in the contract with the health insurance houses have the obligation to comply with the scientifically validated medical guides and protocols; the prescription of medicines and the medical conduct are based exclusively on clear records, recognized and accepted by the medical community; our main objective is to protect your health through a quality, a certain quality,”says Moldovan.
He adds that the doctor-patient relationship is based on confidence and correct communication.
“When contradictory messages appear, the safest step is to talk directly with your family doctor or the specialist who follows your case, not to be influenced by the widespread opinions. We need to heal the doctor-patient relationship and to rebuild the mutual confidence. Only in this way can we ensure a functional health system.says Dr. Horațiu-Remus Moldovan.
